Morning All:

It is really amazing how this first-cup-of-the-morning coffee snaps all the senses together. Sitting here sipping away it suddenly became crystal clear why the last couple of times I have set foot in Home Depot people wander up to me and start asking product related questions, as if I worked there. At first it had to be something I wore, but no not really, that couldn’t be it. Aarchhh, this morning it hit me, it was the birthday thing! Earlier this week I gained a year, since my hair, overnight mind you, got another shade grayer people naturally got the idea that I was a brand new member of Home Depot’s recently announced ‘associates’ search.

Which reminds me:

Three elderly men, now all somewhat hard of hearing were out for a walk.

One remarked to another, “Windy isn’t it?”

“No,” the second man said, “its Thursday.”

The third guy chimed in, “So am I, let’s go to Starbucks and get a coffee.”

This evening Marcia and I will be heading out for our long awaited evening with Les Ballets Trockadero, or “the Trocks” as we affectionately call them. I know, I know, you’re asking why choose the Trocks when you have the option of seeing the just released showing of Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ? Aside from the fact that we’ve had the tickets for four months, we’re opting for “gayety” over one hundred minutes of on screen blood and gore. After all the hype and hoopla has come and gone, I am still not so sure that I care to sit through Gibson’s presentation. I have never been a fan of public executions, especially those complete with the very best of Hollywood ‘up close and personal’ special effects and buckets of popcorn for viewing pleasure. Besides, I missed studying Aramaic while in school.

This evening Adrianne is scheduled to return from the island of St. John. We can’t wait to hear of her adventures. All I know for certain the is that her return to classes on Monday will be a struggle. In Florida our little Derek has started to practice walking – although crawling is still faster and easier. Kirstin and Vince’s life is therefore to change once again as very quicly the little guy will advance from ‘learning’ to ‘marathon running’. Marcia just bought a new alphabet toy, which she promises to ‘share’ with Marin. She is determined to teach him the alphabet at eight months of age.

Now it’s off to run errands. Part of which consist of buying fresh ingredients for a Sunday meal of Pesto Chicken chili. Since the weather here will head for the mid sixties this weekend I suspect that this might be the last of the winter chili dishes – it better be good. Lastly, if you want a quick and fun flashback to the ‘70s head for brother Pieter’s page, you might even catch a glimpse of Marcia (link is located on the left side of this page).

Have a great week.

Cheers,

Dirk
