A good Saturday morning to everyone.

It was basically a snarky comment, an attempt at humor by the custom control officer which welcomed our re-entry back into the USA; and so, soon the Detroit skyline disappeared into the rainy mist behind us.

A great weekend with our Canadian friends and northern neighbors went way too fast. Ok, there was a whole lot of craziness which Marcia just as soon wishes I not get into. I think that she thinks that Windsor wasn’t quite ready for our whirlwind visit.

However, what did come out of the weekend was a major “kick-in-the-pants” to accelerate our planning for a season at Northern Comfort. A renewed urgency to hike, to explore on the ATV, kayak the lake, and mess with the boats crept into my bones last weekend. Yup, I am ready for it all to begin:

“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing—absolutely nothing—half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” ~ from The Wind in the Willows

The Last Post – was two weeks ago – apologies. Last Friday through to Sunday evening it was busy, busy, fun, fun, and, as a bonus, I got to study the land of Trudeau. Marcia told me I was slipping; maybe, but now back on track with this weekly Rambling.

Normalcy has returned as I lean back with my morning mug of Wallingford Coffee’s roasted White Castle java. All is good.

The whining – of the rage machine shows the tachometer into the red. ‘Centrist’ publications such as; the Daily Kos, Salon, Huf-Post, and Mother Jones have begun to tread on the orgasmic. The major news media can’t get enough, and money-bags such as Soros, who provide a chunk of the funding of activist organizations such as Move On, can’t write checks fast enough.

And why?

Why; just to ensure that our tender little ears will not be offended by ‘The Donald’s’ fog-horn. Purity of thought must prevail at any cost.

With all of this, here is my prediction. Trump will not be stopped unless it’s through some back-room deal. If that occurs there will be a lot of upset types.

Hillary will not be the final candidate (something about a FBI – NSA review) and “if that occurs there will be a lot of upset types,” but for all law-abiding folk it’s something they must accept. So – drum roll please – it will be a Trump – Biden choice in November.

Happy? See, once in a while dreams do come true. Not Happy? Sorry, live with it.

By the way, the last time we had such an uproar as a nation — between the conscience Whigs and the cotton Whigs [those who sided with the slavery supporting Democrats] — we ended up with an unknown from a newly formed Republican party, one of our ‘lesser’ (sarcasm) presidents named Lincoln and that turned out pretty well.

Is it Bobby McFerrin whose song goes like this; “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”?

Turn, turn, turn – as we celebrate the end of winter and the beauty of bursts of color. tuliptreeinbloom From my little office window I see our street now lined with blooming pear trees. The glorious Tulip trees make it seem like gallons of pink were poured over bare branches. And, underfoot, here there and everywhere, are the Daffodils, Crocuses, and purple – pink Hyacinths. Fabulous!

Austin City Limits – finally published the photos taken in the lobby prior to show-time. You MUST click on the photo to catch exactly what we experienced! Enjoy!

Fini – I don’t really know why, but I am still fighting off the effects of last weekend’s time-jump.

Make it a great week everyone, stay safe.

Cheers.
